Working among many or large files with Cloud Folder
Storegate Cloud Folder does not store any files directly on the computer's hard drive, which provides many advantages but also some disadvantages. The recommendation is to never have more than 1000 files in the same folder you work with daily as the files take longer to open. The maximum file size per single file to work with is 300 MB. Even files smaller than this can sometimes make the program feel slow, depending on the local internet connection and bandwidth. Files larger than 300 MB are recommended to be downloaded and worked on locally on the computer, and then saved and uploaded to the storage space again. If you find that files smaller than 300 MB are slow, check your internet speed and compare it to the size of the document. It could also be that your network is set to timeout after a certain amount of data has passed in a certain amount of time. Ask your system administrator if this may be the case.
Renaming connection
This article describes how to specify a name for your Cloud Folder connection(s). Windows NOTE! We do not recommend changing the name of the connection by right-clicking it directly in the explorer, as this may cause the names of different connections to shift over time. 1. When entering a name for a connection, always start by disconnecting the connection to make sure the change is effective by clicking the "Disconnect" button. Click on the program icon at the bottom of the clock on your computer, hover over the connection and select "Edit connection": 2. Enter the desired name in the "Connection name" field and click "Connect": macOS 1. Click the Cloud Folder icon at the top of the screen, select the connection you want to rename and click "Disconnect". 2. Click the Cloud Folder icon at the top of the screen, select the connection you want to rename and click "Edit Bookmark". 3. Enter the desired name in the "Nickname:"-field. Then click "Connect".

Avoid working in these file types
Database files Uploading of active database files is not supported, e.g. Exchange, SQL, Visma Administration or MS Access. Synchronisation of active database files can lead to database file corruption as the file is uploaded while being updated by third party software at high frequency. Uploading of database files "at rest" for backup purposes is supported. Other applications OneNote - due to the way OneNote writes information to files, it is possible for data to be corrupted when using Storegate Cloud Folder to open and edit such files. This is because OneNote does not wait for the file to be downloaded in its entirety before writing to it. For this reason, editing OneNote files in Storegate Cloud Folder is not recommended.
